Can all concrete be polished?
Almost all concrete can be polished. If your floors have been recently poured, we ask you wait 1 month before we begin. In order to determine the condition of your concrete, we will need to do an estimate in person.
What does it cost?
Polished Concrete pricing is determined by the square footage, how many levels of finish (sheen/shine) will be required and if there is any extra effects (decorative concrete, logos etc.) added. Any after care is determined by square footage and any damage done (cracks, food, drink or oil stains). Please contact us for a quote on your project.
How can you enhance the polished concrete?
Stained concrete floors and dyes are often applied to enhance the polished concrete and create a decorative flooring. Some of these include, but are not limited to: scoring, patterning, overlays, radical lines, grids, bands, and borders along with various colors.
I want shiny concrete flooring. Is this the same as concrete polishing?
Yes, when people ask for shiny concrete, they are usually talking about polished concrete flooring.
The shine comes from a multi-step grinding and polishing process using diamond abrasives, often combined with a chemical densifier. CCP progressively refines the surface until we reach the customers desired gloss level.
What is the after care of concrete polishing?
Weekly Maintenance: Mop with soapy water water once per week. High traffic areas require more frequent cleaning. Make sure to keep dirt particles off the floor as often as possible as the floors can lose their shine over time without the proper care.
We suggest every 2-5 years (depending on the usage, foot and/or car traffic and whether the space in indoor or outdoors) to clean and seal your flooring. Cement Polishing Versus Concrete Polishing?
What is cement polishing? There is no such thing as cement polishing, the correct term is concrete polishing. People often use the terms interchangeably, but polished cement floors and concrete floors are technically different. Pure cement by itself is rarely used as a finished floor surface because it is softer and more prone to cracking and dusting. When people say “cement polishing,” they usually mean polished concrete flooring. Polished concrete means grinding and polishing the entire concrete slab using diamond abrasives and densifiers to create a smooth, durable finish.
